Skillful or bad ....Ive got a bunch of CO2 guns and I leave them charged indefinitely....zero bug. ..for those that crave information technology I ever use a drop of Pell gun oil on the cart..opinions will vary...skilful luck

No problem.....if it is really sealed, information technology shouldn't lose gas.  If information technology does lose gas, information technology wasn't 100% sealed to commencement with.

  • Louisiana

I continue mine charged....expert for the seals simply bad  for the varmints.

I researched the aforementioned affair years ago with my Fusion and 2260MB, both were rather new rifles.  I accidentally left my 2260 charged for a week.  The valve immediately started leaking on the next Co2, replaced the seals and still leaked.  I ended upwardly getting a valve for 25 or xxx bucks and the problem was fixed.  Information technology could have totally been a coincidence but I don't leave them charged anymore.  I always use Pellgun oil on every other Co2.

Just maxim...co2 is decumbent to the "sneaky leak".

Can take information technology stay pressruized for months and months, and still pick it up and get  shots at the expected speed.

Merely it doesn't mean it didn't leak a niggling.

Co2 self-pressurizes (goes from liquid co2 to gas co2, so while I've oven hqad co2 pistols/rifles still exist pressurized afterwards long-long stroage, may as well detect that they requite fewer good shots than they are expected to.

Also why pressure gauges on majority make full co2 are pretty uselss, other than as a kind of back-trace thermometer.  Fill it with 1 ounce of co2 oir fill it with 10 ounces of co2, the guess is going to read the same gas pressure so long as there is liquid co2 in the system.

It's of no real affair...load it in March and put it away until June, and maybe go 22 shots when you wait thirty (and can get 30 on a freash reload)....so what?

the longest span i've ever left a my 2240 pressurized?  4 years.  i put it abroad in the under seat storage of my line-fishing boat and forgot about it.  when i sold the gunkhole i removed all my tackle and found it.

i finished off the rest of the cart and i'k all the same shooting it with the original valve and seals.

Here is a tale I've just told in one case (in an email)...but I'll tell here.

1982 I set an old Crosman 150 pistol to Mac i (this would have been Tim's male parent rather than today's Tim) for a reseal.  I kind of gave that pistol away in 2004 (aren't too mnay buddies that will mail service bail /option you up from the local PD  at 3AM and give you a bed to seep in).  Last I heard from him was in 2016...and the pistol nonetheless seals/holds co2.

And then...34 years on a set of seals...and he keeps it lubed, charged, and set up to go for equally long equally he's had it (I'll talk him back out of it ane of these days)

  • Louisiana

My CO2 guns are ordinarily charged, that is how I adopt to keep them - occasionally without a cartridge, but I prefer them charged by leaving a near empty cartridge in them.

My PCP'south are more often than not near their low cease of the pressure range when completing a session and are thus put away.   I adopt non to accept then run way downwards.

MSP's are stored with 2 to 10 pump - two if just finishing a session - every bit many equally may have been applied if a shot is non taken.

SSP's always "de-aired"

All decocked regardless of power found.

And periodically lubed to go on seal pliable.

(No springers hither)

With liberty comes a terrible responsibleness

With co2  I attempt to run the cartridge down only if it's notwithstanding got plenty of a charge in it for some upwardly to snuff shots I'll put information technology away with co2 in it. And then far they've all held co2 except for one and that is an SPA CP1, I've already replaced the seals in information technology and information technology now holds air for who knows how long.

I've had 2 experiences on two sides of this upshot.

1. My G&P "9mm" Airsoft replica

Information technology takes a 12 gram CO cartridge in a driblet way mag. I left this pressurized for a calendar month. Every matter worked fine. Then, when I had to reload the CO, the new CO 12 gram cartridge would non concord a seal. I wasted iii new cartridges (all leaked) trying to reload.  Apparently the "face seal" in the mag had taken a set from existence squeezed by that cartridge for over a month. That face seal is all the seal at that place is. I had to replace that magazine. I don't do that any more. The almost I'll do is leave it pressured overnight before I unload that cartridge. Since then, no problems.

2. My Hammerli 850 w/88 gram cartridge

These large cartridges are sealed both by a face seal and by the threads on the cartridge. I've left an 88 gram cartridge in the Hammerli for several months at a time with no ill effects or leaks what-so-ever. Since I've learned how to bulk refill my spent 88 gram catridges (modified past the add-on of a pin valve) I tin at present remove them without losing pressure so ... many times I practice remove them. I can so "acme them off" to 100% make full and so that every shooting session begins with a full CO cartridge. It costs me about $4 to practice a complete refill of 5-6 of these 88 gram cartridges. Overnice!

It takes a 12 gram CO cartridge in a drib fashion mag. I left this pressurized for a calendar month. Every thing worked fine. Then, when I had to reload the CO, the new CO 12 gram cartridge would not hold a seal. I wasted 3 new cartridges (all leaked) trying to reload.  Apparently the "face up seal" in the mag had taken a gear up from being squeezed past that cartridge for over a calendar month. That face seal is all the seal in that location is. I had to supervene upon that mag. I don't do that whatsoever more. The virtually I'll practice is leave information technology pressured overnight before I unload that cartridge. Since then, no issues.

I had the aforementioned thing happen to my Remington 1911 CO2 pistol.  Left it charged for a few months and the magazine CO2 holder never held CO2 again.  I had to buy a replacement magazine because I never could get it to seal once more.  I now store that one completely empty.  All my Crosman 22XX CO2 pistols seem to hold up well if left charged.

If the system is "Not" the simple seal at the puncture/valve archway,  Forever, or until it decides to leak.

The first type, I don't trust at all, and won't owne.  My Crosman MK Two and South&W, have never leaked. Organization where the pin is in the bottom of the grip, and not part of the valve. 20+ years on either of them.

Sometime daisy repeater, semi machine with the firs type, always leaked out with in 24 hours. Same with the Daisy semi rifle. GRRRR!

Even so the O ring was swollen and blistered, so much so that i couldn't utilize information technology once more.  Just i knew that was going to happen afterward reading other posts and i accept 25 spares i picked up on Amazon
